At the age of 16, God called Chris Talton to pursue training as a pastor. He received the first portion of his education at Liberty University and completed his formal education at Southeastern Seminary. He has served three churches since then, and he taught teenagers at a Christian school.
Since October of 2019, Pastor Talton has led our church. He and his wife, Tammy, love God and love people. He diligently studies God's Word so that He can present it to the church in accurate, interesting, and helpful ways. He enjoys helping people understand biblical truth as he answers their questions.

There is a reason that we refer to these four men as trustees, and it has very little to do with the fact that the church elected them to their position. It is because these men have proved themselves to be trustworthy. They, along with our church treasurer, watch over the finances of the church and the church property.
We trust them with more than money, though. With their wisdom and their courage, they help guide the church in its service to the community, its witness to the world, and the ways that we show love to each other. We are so thankful for these men!
Though these men have been a part of our church for a while, they are recent additions to our leadership team. The church chose them as our first deacons in August of 2024. These men are servants. Though these men have been a part of our church for a while, they are recent additions to our leadership team. The church chose them as our first deacons in August of 2024. These men are servants. They pray, they give counsel, they give time, and they give support to our church's pastor and to our church's people. Though our church has other good men, there are no better men in our church than these two. We are thankful for them.
If you have a need, regardless of the category, these men will do what they can to help meet that need in a confidential, non-judgemental way. They will lead our church as a whole to do the same.
We believe that there is only one self-existent and eternal God, of infinite wisdom power and holiness, who created and preserves all things visible and invisible. In the unity of this Godhead are three persons with identical attributes – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, who was born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate; He was crucified and buried. He ascended into heaven and sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty. He will come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe that because of Adam’s sin, man inherits a corrupt nature, and that man cannot save himself by his own purpose or works.
We believe that Jesus Christ provided, in His vicarious and atoning death, for both actual transgressions and original sin; that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential; that all who repent of their sins and truly believe in Jesus Christ and receive Him as Savior and Lord are saved by grace and justified by faith on the basis of His shed blood.
We believe in the ministry of God, the Holy Spirit, who is convicting the lost; regenerating them to become children of God; cleansing, filling, empowering, teaching, leading, and working through saints, enabling them to live godly lives, to boldly witness, and to lead others into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of eternal death and punishment.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe the sixty-six books of the Holy Bible to be inspired, the only infallible and authoritative Word of God.
We believe that Christ ordained two ordinances: the Lord’s Supper and Baptism. Baptism should be by immersion except where extreme medical or physical conditions dictate otherwise.
We believe that Christians should come together regularly for worship (Hebrews 10:25). It is conducive to spiritual growth and development.
We believe our purpose is to point to Jesus Christ, to evangelize the lost, and to nurture Christians to maturity.
We believe that marriage was instituted by God as a union between a person born male and a person born female. “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator made them male and female and said, ‘For this reason (marriage) a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one. Therefore, what God has joined together, let man not separate.” (Matthew 19:4-6). Therefore, no marriage ceremony will ever be allowed in any buildings or on any property owned by Danville Community Baptist Church between two persons of the same sex, either male or female. We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (1 Cor. 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb. 13:4). We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, cohabitation, homosexual behavior, or use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God (Matt. 15:18-20; 1 Cor. 6:9-10).
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as either male or female, and that these two distinct, complementary sexes together reflect the image and nature of God (Gen. 1:26-27). Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.
We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. (Ps. 139.)
We believe and accept the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as our own.
The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of Danville Community Baptist Church’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our pastor and elders are this church’s final interpretive authority on the Bible’s application.
